Now, let's dive in..

Some of the chemicals found in antiseptic liquid include:

1. Texapon. It is a surfactant which allows oils to be dissolved in water.

2. Phenol is an aromatic compound classified as an alcohol. Phenol is used in low concentration as a disinfectant in household products and mouth wash.

3. Chloroxylenol. is an
antiseptic and disinfectant which is used for skin disinfection and cleaning
surgical instruments. It is also used within a number of household disinfectants and wound cleaner.  [2]Is an antibacterial.

4. Isopropyl Alcohol (I. P. A). Is a colourless, flammable chemical compound with strong odour. It contains antiseptic effects which gives Dettol the ability to kill bacteria and fungi.

5. Pine Oil. Has an antiseptic and disinfectant substance. When the oil is diluted with water, it forms a cloudy liquid. (This happens when you add Dettol in water)

Please note that it is very important to put on your nose guide and gloves when handling chemicals.

Materials needed:

Bucket
Measuring cups (the same one caterers uses for measurement)
Spatula
Nose guide
Hand glove

Chemicals and their quantity

Texapon 1/2  cup
Pine oil 1 cup
Phenol 1 cup
Chloroxylenol 1/2  cup
IPA 2 cups
Dettol colorant - as desired
Water 3  cups

Procedure

1. In an empty bucket, add the texapon and pine oil and stir.

2. Add Phenol and continue stirring.

3. Then add Chloroxylenol and stir.

4. Add IPA and stir very well.

5. Then add water.

6. Finally, add the color. Stir very well.

Dettol is ready for use/sale.
